 Island Arc Exploration Corp. is a development stage mineral exploration company engaged in the evaluation and development of resource properties. NIGER, WEST AFRICA - Gold (Au) Dar Es Salam Project, Niger, West Africa The Dar Es Salam project consists of 2 permits, Dar Es Salam 2 and Dar Es Salam 3 located 150km west of Niamey, the capital of Niger. The permits cover 1000 square kilometres of the Tera-Gassa Greenstone Belt in the Lower Proterozoic Birimian volcano-sedimentary series. The Birimian hosts numerous gold mines in West Africa, including the producing Samira Hill Mine, 40 kilometres to the southeast of Dar Es Salam. Nassile Project, Niger, West Africa Nassile is situated in the southwestern section of the Sirba greenstone belt immediately northeast of the Burkina Faso border and 100 kilometres southwest of Niamey, the capital of Niger. From 1996 to 1998, the property was actively explored by Ashanti Goldfields, who conducted programs of soil and termite mound geochemistry, geological mapping, ground magnetic surveys, trenching and RAB drilling. Average depth of the RAB drill holes was 30 metres on an inclination of 50 degrees. CANADA - Gold (Au) Jake Property, Clearwater, British Columbia In May 2007, Island Arc entered into an option agreement with Rimfire Minerals Corporation ("Rimfire") to earn 51% in the promising Jake Gold Project, 13 kilometres west of Clearwater, B.C. The Jake Property covers 282.6 square kilometers in 66 contiguous mineral claims. Rimfire, as Operator, has recently completed an Induced Polarization survey over the Jake showing area and trenching is planned for late August or early September. Diamond drilling is also planned for November. CANADA - Diamonds Back Lake Property, Northwest Territories Island Arc maintains a 10.62% carried interest in the Back Lake Project, with an additional 2% interest acquired in 1999 subject to dilution if Island Arc does not participate in future exploration programs. The Back Lake Project is operated by SouthernEra (60.4%) as a joint venture with Kalahari Resources Inc. and Island Arc Exploration Corp. The diamond exploration program is located in the Southern Kimberlite Field of the NWT. |
