ABOUT ISLAND ARC EXPLORATION
Island Arc Exploration Corp. is an exploration and development company focused in Niger, West Africa. The company is currently exploring the Nassile and Dar Es Salam projects, covering 1,576.7 square kilometres of the Birimian Greenstone Belt in southwest Niger.
The Birimian Greenstone Belt is host to several multimillion ounce gold deposits.
NIGER, WEST AFRICA - Gold (Au)
Nassile Project, Niger, West Africa
Key Highlights:
- 575 square kilometres land package.
- Extensive artisanal gold production active at surface over large areas.
- Prospects identified during 2008-2009 exploration program returned grades up to 132 g/t Au.
- Northeast trending quartz veins with high grade samples over 600 metres: included 58.20 g/t, 30.0 g/t, 28.5 g/t.
- 5 drill ready prospects hosting significant gold mineralization along 20 kilometres of strike. These targets include gold-quartz veins, potential sheeted veins, and quartz stockwork vein systems in a variety of host rocks, representing both high-grade and bulk tonnage targets.
- The planned 12,000 metre drill program is aimed at aggressively following up on these priority gold targets.
Dar Es Salam Project, Niger, West Africa
- 2007-2008 exploration program focused on excavator and hand trenching of two significant mineralized trends: Fanta and Tandiakangue West.
- Trenching and mapping along these two trends uncovered several targets with good potential (Summer 2008).
- Previous work includes widely spaced soil geochemistry, local ground magnetics and VLF-EM surveys, and targeted IP (induced polarization).
- Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling is planned for Spring 2010, based on 2008 program results.
Uranium: Niger
- A number of uranium permits previously applied for by IAX are progressing through the permitting process, though formal approval is subject to the discretion of the regulatory authorities in the Republic of Niger.
Diamonds: Canada
- Island Arc maintains a 10.62% carried interest in the Back Lake Project, located in the Southern Kimberlite Field of the NWT.
